Business rates liability indicator

1. Introduction

This tool attempts to give you an indication of what your bill might be, based on the information that you give, but any calculated figures provided are only estimates. Your exact liability can only be provided by your local authority when it sends your rates bill.

YOU MUST NOT RELY ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THIS INDICATOR - IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR YOUR ACTUAL RATES BILL. WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THIS INDICATOR.       

The indicator should be able to calculate your basic liability. If your planned business is entitled to Small Business Rate Relief this can also be estimated.

This indicator does not calculate any entitlement to relief under the following schemes:    

• Charitable or community amateur sports club relief     
• Rural rate relief     
• Empty/unoccupied relief
• Hardship relief
